Jakarta, Aug. 28 (CNA)-Taiwanese world No. 1 Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎) won a gold medal in the badminton women’s singles at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta Tuesday.

Tai defeated third-seeded Pusarla V. Sindhu of India 21-13, 21-16 in a match that lasted 34 minutes.

The victory marked Taiwan’s first ever badminton gold at the Asian Games.
