Taiwan shares open lower

Shares in Taiwan rose more than 200 points Monday as investors were encouraged by developments in the U.S. at the end of last week on the back of a better than expected jobs report in Washington and the U.S. Federal Reserve's dovish attitude toward monetary policy, dealers said.

Taipei, Sept. 7 (CNA)-The Taiwan Stock Exchange’s main index opened down 1.75 points at 10,922.55 Friday on turnover of NT$2.73 billion (US$88.61 million).
