North Korea’s chairman arrives in Lang Son

LANG SON, Vietnam (Viet Nam News/ANN) – Chairman of North Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un has arrived in Vietnam.

Chairman Kim’s train pulled into Dong Dang Railway Station in the northern border province of Lang Son at 8.13 a.m. on Feb. 26.

He is here for an official friendship visit and to attend the second summit with US President Donald Trump which is planned to take place in Hanoi on Feb. 27-28.

Greeting Chairman Kim at the station were Viet Nam’s head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, Vice Chairman of the President’s Office Chu Van Yem, Viet Nam’s Ambassador to DPRK Le Ba Vinh and leaders of Lang Son Province.

Despite the cold weather and rain, thousands of locals gathered along the roads around the station with flags and flowers to meet the distinguished guest.

Vietnam and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea established diplomatic relations in 1950.
