Princess Cruises to promote small town roaming with Tourism Bureau

TAIPEI (The China Post) – Princess Cruises’ “Local Connections” program cooperates with the Tourism Bureau to promote a brand-new in-depth travel itinerary of the ports of Taipei and Kaohsiung. It is estimated that the project could bring in more than NT$20 million for local tourism industry.

“Local Connections” has been in operation globally for more than 35 years. This is the very first cooperation between Taiwan and the cruise company.

Different from the traditional itinerary of visiting famous touristic spots onshore, the cruise works with local professionals in the field of tourism and combines with this year’s theme, “Small Town Roaming Year,” set by the Tourism Bureau.

The itinerary provides a unique travel experience on small town travel and goes through the town lanes to discover the unusual scenes in Taiwan for international travelers. Meanwhile, it also aims to shape Taiwan’s cruise tourism identity.

The four selected routes include:

Taipei:

  1. Shenao Railway Bike Trail – Jiufen – Gold Museum – Shueinan Cave
  2. Longshan Temple – Puppetry Art Center of Taipei –See-Join Puppet Theater –Taipei Lecture Hall
  3. Yehliu – Ju Ming Museum – Yangmingshan National Park

Kaohsiung:

  1. Chihkan Tower – Wu Wan Chun Incense Store – Guangcai Embroidery – Du Xiao Yue Restaurant – Confucius Temple – Koxinga Shrine – Daybreak 18 Teahouse – Yongchuan Sedan Chair
