TAIPEI (The China Post) – Japanese chain stores have opened restaurants all across Taiwan; yet, only a few Taiwan brands have targeted the Japanese market. Regent Taipei announced that it started serving the award-winning “Champion Beef Noodles” at WIRED TOKYO 1999 in Shibuya Tsutaya bookstore on March 26. The store serves both stewed and braised flavors for the price of around 980 yen per bowl, only 100 yen more than a bowl in Ichiran Ramen.
According to the company, noodles delights, whether stewed or braised, always attract gourmands. Thanks to the Tourism Bureau’s overseas promotion and the recommendations from visitors to Taiwan, there is little wonder that tourists will enjoy the award-winning noodles.
Wu Wei-zheng, general manager of Regent Taipei said that Japanese tourists account for 40 percent of the total number of visitors at the hotel. Besides, Japan is the first choice for entering overseas markets because of the high acceptability of noodles and familiarity with well-known Taiwan’s beef noodles. In the future, Taiwanese beef noodles are expected to gain high popularity through online sales in Japanese markets.
