TAIPEI (The China Post) – The “NTU System,” an alliance of higher education institutions established by the National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), will allow their respective students to take classes in each other faculties starting in September. The original program aims to take full advantage of the three schools’ geographical location and complementarity.

Based on the agreement signed between the three universities in 2014, the shared resources are already open to nearly 60,000 professors and students, offering adjusted class times and shuttle bus services for maximum convenience.

According to statistics, the number of students enrolled in the 105th and 106th academic year totaled 4,603 and 5,735, respectively. In the 107th school year, the number of students will reach 6,114.

According to Chen Chao Chen (陳昭珍), dean of academic affairs of National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), multidisciplinary studies is a trend that can better prepare students for the future needs of the society.

By allowing students to take courses across faculties will bring in more resources and greatly broaden one’s perspective, the organizers said.

Students who completed their cross-school studies will have the names of the faculties listed among their credits on their diploma.
