LONDON (CNA) — Taiwan’s Latisha Chan (詹詠然) and her partner, Croatia’s Ivan Dodig, beat their British contenders on July 11 to advance to the semi-finals of the mixed doubles event at Wimbledon.

The eighth-seeded Chan-Dodig duo, which holds the title in the French Open mixed doubles this year and in 2018, fought hard against the unseeded home team of Evan Hoyt and Eden Silva.

Chan and Dodig went into the first set and took it to 1-4, with the British pair scoring a break in the fourth game, but they fought back to take it to 4-4, eventually winning the first set 7-5.

The second set was similar to the first. With their rivals leading the set, Chen and Dodig managed to fight back and ultimately clinched the tie-break.

The Chan-Dodig pair will play against fifth-seeded Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands and Kveta Peschke of Czech Republic Saturday for a ticket to the final.
