TAIPEI (CNA) — Companies listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) in July saw their combined revenues up 0.44 percent to NT$2.76 trillion (US$88.27 billion) from a year earlier, the exchange said Tuesday.
In July, 478 firms listed on the main board reported year-on-year sales increases, while 454 firms reported declines, according to statistics compiled by the TWSE.
From January to July, 441 TWSE-listed companies posted year-on-year sales growth, while 491 firms posted declines.
Companies that posted revenue increases in July were mainly in the information services sector, the automotive industry and the biotech and healthcare sectors, while those that posted revenue drops were mainly in the electrical cable, electric machinery and plastics industry sectors.
In the first seven months of the year, firms that saw revenue growth were mainly in the information services sector and the shipping industry, while those in the electrical cable, electric machinery and glass and ceramic industries saw declines.
