Taiwanese singer Evan Yo announced her new record deal with label Pourquoi Pas Music(何樂音樂) this year, and launched a new album 4 years after his previous work, showing his dark side for the first time ever, “I’ve maintained this cheerful image for too long, I needed to express my true feelings. After all, everyone has bad days.” He talked about obstacles he encountered when preparing for the album. He hit a wall for some time, and his demo was refused by managers at a meeting, which deeply frustrated him.
After the meeting, he made the biggest decision of his life. He moved out of home and started living on his own. By spending more time with himself, he gradually felt more at ease, and new ideas began surfacing.
The new album is already facing trouble before its release when all the songs for the album were leaked on music streaming platforms. However, the record label expressed confidence with the situation, stating “It’s not a bad thing to let the fans listen to it beforehand”. When pre-orders start on Aug 8, a short remix tape of the ten songs from the album will also be released. In addition, a 100-second video documenting the recording of this album will also be released, bringing memories from the past 14 years back to the fans.
