Indonesia has the third largest rainforest in the world, which is home to much of the orangutans that are now unfortunately endangered due to the rapid pace of deforestation. The rainforest has been deforested for palm tree plantations.

According to the South China Morning Post, the man said that he hopes to remind youths the difficult path Indonesia had gone through for independence, and also to highlight the problem of deforestation on Mount Wilis. Mount Wilis is a 2500-meter tall volcano located in Java island.

The man added, if he ever saw the Indonesian President Joko Widodo, he would ask him to plant a tree on Mount Wilis, named after his name.
