Famous Taiwan voice actor Jiang Du-hui died on Sept.16 at the age of 49. Jiang dubbed for many leading characters in the Taiwan edition of popular Japanese animations such as “Crayon Shin-chan,” “Naruto” and “Case Closed.” According to an online chat room, Jiang started to suffer from cancer this June. She then wrote to her friends that “Do not worry about me,” “Just give me your blessings.”
According to a Facebook statement released on Voice Income on Monday, “One of the most outstanding voice actors, Madame Jiang Du-hui, left us earlier today. We will remember you. We wish you rest in peace, and all the best to your family.” The post was deleted a couple of hours later and replaced by an apology for causing trouble to Jiang’s family for released the news online.
The Central News Agency confirmed Jiang’s passing with the voice actors association, saying Jiang died at 7:13 a.m. yesterday morning from stage four of cervical cancer.
Jiang has been a voice actor for 26 years. She dubbed for Shinnosuke Nohara in “Crayon Shin-chan,” Kurama in “Yu Yu Hakusho,” Naruto Uzumaki in “Naruto,” Shinichi Kudo in “Case Closed,” Fuyuki Hinata in “Sgt. Frog” and so on. She also dubbed in online games “World of Warcraft” and “Hearthstone.”
