The longest Double Ten Day fireworks display to unfold in Pingtung

TAIPEI (The China Post) — A 42-minute-long Double Ten Day fireworks show will light up the night sky above a riverside park in Pingtung, southern Taiwan on Oct. 10, starting from 8 p.m. Details of the creative display were announced by Pingtung County Government on Oct. 3, offering a sneak peek at the spectacular fireworks show on National Day.
The longest ever fireworks display, themed “Taiwan Forward,” will feature a total of 16,280 fireworks, the highest fireworks which will reach a height of 600 meters, and the average height of fireworks ranging between 400 and 500 meters.

In addition, the fireworks extravaganza will be accompanied by live music played by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, bringing a feast for visitors’ eyes and ears.
The fireworks display will start from 8 p.m., following various performances, including the Paper Windmill Theater, singers Yuwen, Fan Wu, and a marching band consisting of 66 high schools students.
