TAIPEI (The China Post/ANN) — “Taiwan Pride” (台灣同志遊行), the largest LGBTQ parade in Asia, kicked off on Saturday in front of Taipei City Hall Plaza (台北市政府廣場).
Taiwan LGBT Pride, themed “Together, Make Taiwan Better,” is expected to attract more than 200,000 participants from across Taiwan and beyond.
The event is organized by the Marriage Equality Coalition Taiwan, the official platform advocating for the passage of marriage equality bills in the Civil Code in 2016.
Marriage Equality Coalition Taiwan is comprised of five LGBTQ+ and gender organizations: Awakening Foundation, GagaOOLala, Taiwan LGBT Family Rights Advocacy, The Lobby Alliance for LGBT Human Rights and Taiwan Tongzhi Hotline Association. ●
