As Christmas is drawing near, an increasing number of Christmas events are scheduled around town. In addition to “Christmasland” in northern Taiwan, “Pingtung Christmas Festival” will run from Nov. 29 to Feb. 9 in the southernmost county. Recently, ten sets of Christmas lights in the Pingtung Park were lightened up for a test, attracting many tourists who enjoyed the startling decorations before the arrival of local and foreign travelers.
“Pingtung Christmas Festival,” which runs with the theme “It’s snowing in Pingtung,” will kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday. What’s worth noticing is that the opening ceremony will feature the first (artificial) snow of the season in Pingtung. If you can’t make it to Pingtung Park tomorrow to enjoy the first snow, then no worries! The Pingtung Christmas Festival is expected to make snowfall from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. from December 21 to 25.
Also, the Christmas market will boast 30 stalls selling local snacks, running from 17:30 until 22:30 on Dec. 21-25.
