CTBC receives ‘Leader in Sustainability Award’ from British Standards Institution

TAIPEI (The China Post) — CTBC Banks commitment to corporate sustainability has received international recognition again! CTBC Financial Holding Co. Ltd. secured the Leader in Sustainability Award at the International Sustainability Standards hosted by The British Standards Institution (BSI) on Nov. 29.  

Also, Taiwan Life Insurance Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of the CTBC Financial Holding, won the Sustainable Practice Award. Changhsing Cho, general secretary & corporate governance officer, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

The achievements show that CTBC has won international recognition for applying the international management standards and promoting the sustainable development of the environment and enterprises. 

Peter Pu, managing director of BSI, stressed that CTBC Financial Holding has continued to fulfill its corporate social responsibility and established a sustainable strategy.

In addition to the release of corporate social responsibility reports verified by the third parties for ten consecutive years, CTBC has also led the domestic industries to become sustainable by introducing the international management standards which echo the UNs sustainable development goals.

As a model for Taiwans sustainable enterprises, CTBC was awarded the Leader in Sustainability Award.

Taiwan Life has its focus on implementing environmental sustainability.

It has obtained six certificates this year, including SO9001 Quality Management System, ISO27001 Information Security Management, ISO45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management, ISO14064-1 Carbon footprint verification, ISO50001 Energy Management, and ISO14001 Environmental Management.

Taiwan Life secured the Sustainable Practice Award given by BSI in recognition of its determination and execution to promote the sustainable development of the environment and the company. 

In addition, employee care is an important part of the sustainable development strategy. The company actively implements employee care and foster talents.

CTBC Bank, a subsidiary of the company, is committed to promoting digital learning resources and creating a digital learning environment by achieving three aspects, including the cross-countries integration, fostering innovation, and the application and integration of virtual reality.

Besides, the CTBC Bank won the Best Learning Pusher Award at the 2000 Enterprises Talent Cultivation Survey Conference held by the CommonWealth Magazine in recognition of CTBCs fruitful results in fostering talents.

The multiple achievements show that international institutions well recognize CTBCs sustainable operating beliefs.
