TAIPEI (The China Post) — The construction of a new bridge across Longtan lake was recently completed, bringing new hopes for a public opening ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday.

The new bridge is expected to open when life-saving equipment is installed on both sides of the guard rails, according to local authorities.

The bridge is 240 meters in total length.

As one of the most famous tourist spots in Yilan, Longtan lake has attracted an increasing number of tourists in recent years, according to the Department of Business and Tourism, Yilan County Government.
