TAIPEI (The China Post) — There are more things to do on a layover at the Taoyuan International Airport than sleep. For those who love watching airplanes, a new observatory deck opened on Dec. 14 at the south side of Terminal 2, Taoyuan International Airport.

Also, newly-opened coffee shops, restaurants and the first capsule hotel at the airport will spice up your local experience.

The 755-square-meters observatory deck overlooks an old airfield and Taoyuan Zhongzheng Arts and Cultural Business District. If you are seeking a place to rest during a layover, you can check in at Thé Stay Capsule on the fifth floor at Terminal 2.

Thé Stay Capsule will officially open on Dec. 24. Built on the theme of “tea,” the hotel offers travelers who stay overnight a nice cup of tea.

Staying one night at the capsule hotel is priced NT$1,200 (US$40) per person on weekdays. On weekends, one night is charged NT$2,000 (US$66) per person.

What’s more? The hotel also offer resting rooms, which are priced at NT$500 for two hours.
