If you live in Taipei and love nature, don’t miss one of the most popular hiking destinations “Baoshishan Lookout” in New Taipei city. Located in Ruifang District, Baoshishan Lookout is an excellent attraction for families during the holidays. It takes roughly five minutes to walk to the main observation deck.
The entrance to the trail sits at the corner of the Chuen Ji Hall parking lot. After walking for a few minutes, you will see abandoned ruins on your right-hand side hidden in the bushes. The ruins offer a mysterious atmosphere, something like a secret photography spot.
What’s more? Behind the ruins, you will see an old mine railway and a 45 degrees slope stretching to the Yin and Yang Sea that has attracted many photographers for far and near.
With an altitude of 260 meters, “Baoshishan Lookout” boasts wide fields of Chinese silver grass during the fall/winter season. A few minutes away from the trail entrance, the Zhaoriting is a perfect spot to see the sunrise. You can overlook the Yin and Yang Sea, Keelung Mountain, Teapot Mountain and Jinguashih from the observation deck at the end of the trail.
