TAIPEI (CNA) — EVA Airways confirmed on Wednesday that it carried a passenger infected with the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on flight BR10 from Taoyuan to Vancouver on March 7 and said it has taken the necessary measures to cope with the situation.

The Taiwan-based airline said it was informed by Canadian health authorities that one of the passengers it carried that day was diagnosed with the disease.

After receiving the notification, the airline disinfected the aircraft and gave the 12 cabin crew on the flight two weeks of paid leave so they could quarantine themselves at home through March 21.
