TAIPEI (CNA) — The weather around Taiwan is expected to turn stable Tuesday as seasonal northeasterly winds weaken and should stay that way for the rest of the week, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Daytime temperatures are expected to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius from a day earlier in northern Taiwan to 26-27 degrees Tuesday and stay unchanged in central and southern Taiwan at 30-31 degrees, the CWB said.
The CWB still warned, however, of a wide day-night temperature gap in central and southern Taiwan, where the mercury is expected to fall to 22-23 degrees at night.
In northern Taiwan, temperatures are forecast to fall to 20 degrees at night, the CWB said.
Despite the generally stable weather, sporadic rain is possible in northeastern coastal areas, parts of eastern and southern Taiwan and in mountainous areas in central Taiwan, the CWB said.
The stable weather is expected to continue for the rest of this week, the bureau forecast.
