Taiwanese return home after being stranded in India, Maldives

TAIPEI (CNA) — Some 30 Taiwanese nationals who were stranded in India and Maldives due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Wednesday night via South Korea.

They were flown from India on a special South Korean flight the previous day, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

At around 9 p.m. the Taiwanese citizens, mostly expatriates living in India, landed at the airport and were transported to a quarantine center, where they will be tested for COVID-19, the CECC said.
