Sean Lien named vice chairman of KMT think tank

TAIPEI (The China Post/ANN) — Sean Lien (連勝文), a member of the Central Standing Committee of the opposition Kuomintang (KMT), on Tuesday became vice chairman of the KMT’s think tank — the National Policy Foundation (NPF, 國家政策研究基金會).

Speaking at a press conference, Lien praised KMT Chairman Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) and NPF CEO Justin Chou (周守訓) and expressed his commitment to bring new blood in the party and boost employment opportunities nationwide.

Lien told Chinese-language media that he declined the invitation to join the NPF first, but he stressed that now is a pivotal moment for the party and expressed hopes to contribute to its reformation.

Lien further expressed hopes that the NPF could assist young entrepreneurs, boost innovation and help develop Taiwan’s economy as a result.
