TAIPEI (The China Post) — Rising phenom Ou-yang Nana (歐陽娜娜), a Taiwanese singer and actress, announced on Monday, her new contract with Sony Music, an extended play “NANA I” and the live stream of her performance.
Nana is a music prodigy who started playing the piano at 5, and the cello at age 6.
She quickly ascended to the top, becoming the youngest person to perform at the most pristine concert hall in Taiwan
At age 13, she was accepted into the world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music. The talented artist, who is about to turn 20, is currently attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
“Crossover from classical to pop takes a process and there are many parts that need to be learned and understood, and I think the two are not in conflict,” she said when asked about the field’s change.
In her newly-released single “The Best for You,” she incorporated her beloved cello with modern pop music, saying that the single took her 15 minutes to create.
