TAIPEI (The China Post) — Jeorge from Mexico has been in Taiwan for the past two years. He graduated from National Chengchi University’s IMBA program this month.
When asked about his favorite place in Taiwan, however, he says it’s the furniture chain store IKEA. Jeorge said that he recently revisited IKEA, the third time since coming to Taiwan.
His first time was when he first got here and needed furniture. In a moment of nostalgia, he remembers John Lennon’s “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”
For him, IKEA and other large furniture stores are leisure spots for relaxing. He added that IKEA’s open store design offers customers the ability to imagine how particular furniture fit into their homes.
In addition, people are allowed to test the furniture and rest on the couches when they are tired from shopping. The decorations for books are also very interesting, even finding Swedish books in the showrooms, he said.
However, he remarks that Taiwan has plenty of beautiful sights and locations. Although he rarely visits furniture stores, each experience is hard to forget. Since he loves Taiwan, he has decided to stay and work hard.
