Happy birthday Yuan Zai! Taiwan-born giant panda turns 7

TAIPEI (The China Post) — Taipei City Zoo (台北市立動物園) threw a party on July 6 to celebrate the 7th birthday of “Yuan Zai” (圓仔), the first giant panda born in Taiwan.

Although the zoo is closed on Mondays, the birthday party was streamed live on the Facebook page

Yuan Zai, born in 2013, has grown from a 183.4 grams cub to over 110 kilograms. He now has a sister.

On June 28, Yuan Zai’s mother, Yuan Yuan, gave birth to her second cub.
