Hong Kong Sugar Santa passes happiness despite burns

TAIPEI (The China Post) — Coined as the “Sugarman,” Louis To from Hong Kong preserves the centuries-old craft of candy art with his vivacious stall.

He can always be found interacting with children, who blow at the candy while he kneads sugar dough that reaches 80 degrees Celcius.

Louis finds his job to be “an exchange of happiness.” Rather than profiting from the painstakingly crafted sugar arts, he’d much rather witness people enjoy it.
