TAIPEI (The China Post) — Most people are unhappy about their ID photos on official documents, but a Tennessee woman recently expressed her displeasure on social media after receiving her new driver’s license with the “worst ID photo” ever: an empty chair.

CNN reported that Jade Dodd from Tennessee, Hickman County, recently renewed her driver’s license and received it in the mail on Thursday. Expecting to see her photo on the ID, she was, instead, surprised to discover an empty blue chair instead.

When she called the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to report the problem, the woman looked it up in the system and responded, “Oh, I need my manager for this,” Dodd said.

Regarding the blunder, the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security explained that Dodd “received an image of a chair because that was the last picture taken on the file.”

“When the Department was made aware of her situation, we immediately made things right with the customer and provided her with a license with her actual photo and have addressed this situation internally,” a spokesperson said.

After posting the hilarious driver’s license on her social media, Dodd received likes and memes from strangers, with many commenting: “Tennessee people are way ahead of Elon Musk, they are already issuing driver’s licenses to empty seats.”

Another person wrote: “Who thinks they really look like the pictures on their driver’s license anyway.”
