TAIPEI (CNA) — All 89 members of a visiting delegation from the Czech Republic led by the country’s Senate President Miloš Vystrčil, tested negative for COVID-19 after arriving in Taiwan Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Monday.

The delegation landed at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport at 11 a.m. Sunday on a China Airlines direct charter flight, which took off from Prague Saturday afternoon. They were greeted by Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) at the airport.

Escorted by police, members of the delegation were transported to a hotel in Taipei where they underwent COVID-19 testing.

All 89 members of the delegation were negative for COVID-19, MOFA said in a statement issued Monday.

This was the second test delegation members have taken. They were required to present a negative test taken no longer than three days before boarding the plane to Taiwan and will receive a third test during their visit, according to MOFA.
