TAIPEI (The China Post) — The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has recently expanded its Triple Stimulus Vouchers program, allowing around 11,600 Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC) holders and 1,400 foreign diplomats to collect vouchers worth NT$3,000 (US$105.18) for NT$1,000.
APRC holders and foreign diplomats can collect printed vouchers from the post office with their National Health Insurance card or Alien Permanent Resident Certificate. They can also obtain the vouchers digitally by registering with a credit card (which they can apply for at Taiwan’s local banks), stored value cards or mobile payments on the Triple Stimulus Vouchers program website. The deadline to use the vouchers is Dec. 31, 2020.
Explaining the reason behind expanding the Triple Stimulus Voucher program, Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) reportedly said that many of these 13,000 foreign nationals have deep connections with and affection toward Taiwan and have made significant contributions to the country, such as priests and ministers who have devoted their lives to serving the Taiwanese people.
The government is thanking them for their contributions, Su added, hoping that there will be high demand for the vouchers, citing the upcoming year-end shopping season such as Christmas.
According to the MOEA, 23.1 million people, or 97 percent of the population eligible to collect the vouchers have done so. Reminding citizens and APRC holders should spend Triple stimulus vouchers before Dec. 31, 2020.
