TAIPEI (The China Post) — CTBC Bank (中信銀行) has won six major awards at this year “Elite Awards” (菁業獎), including “Best Trust Finance Award” (最佳信託金融獎), “Best Wealth Management Award” (最佳財富管理獎), “Best Digital Finance Award” (最佳數位金融獎), “Best Consumer Finance Award” (最佳消費金融獎), “Best Risk Management Award” (最佳風險管理獎) and “Best Green Project Finance Award” (最佳綠色專案融資獎), which is the best performance in the finance industry.

Speaking at the award ceremony organized by the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF), CTBC Bank President James Chen (陳佳文) emphasized how population aging and low-interest rates have made self-directed pension management a growing trend, even though it is a challenge for people to accumulate enough pension for a good retirement.

According to the organizer, CTBC Bank performed well in this year’s event, with its main strengths in trust finance, wealth management, personal credit, payment, money laundering prevention, and even green finance, all of which fully demonstrate the bank’s core competencies of high digitization, AI intelligent financial management, and business model innovation.

CTBC Bank was the first trustee bank in Taiwan to create the “Private School Retirement Fund Self-Investment Platform” (私校退撫儲金自主投資平臺). Over the past ten years, it has continuously optimized the platform’s functions, and its convenient and secure design allows more than 50,000 staff members to check their pension accounts or change their investment portfolios anytime, anywhere using digital tools such as cell phones and tablets, overturning the traditional financial service model.

The company’s main goal is to continue to focus on the development of financial technology and to steadily move towards the goal of becoming a regional bank in Asia. (Courtesy of CTBC Bank)

In addition, CTBC Bank has used innovative technologies to improve the traditional loan application process and introduced human-machine collaboration for intelligent financial services, effectively solving a large number of loan applications and diversified financial needs of customers. Through cross-industry alliances, CTBC Bank has successfully built an ecosystem of Line Pay card points and a “one-stop payment experience” (一站式支付體驗) to achieve the benefits of synergy.

On the other hand, CTBC Bank has responded to the needs of the community and has been deeply involved in the green finance industry, acting as the coordinating bank and financial advisor for a number of renewable energy projects, helping Taiwan to reach a new milestone in project financing and wind power supply chain development.

In addition, CTBC Bank has actively responded to international regulations on money-laundering prevention and compliance, while at the same time providing convenience and efficiency in financial flow operations, creating a number of firsts in the Taiwan industry.

So far this year, CTBC Bank has won 224 domestic and international awards, a record of nine consecutive years of winning more than 100 awards. In the future, we will continue to refine our operational performance, corporate governance, community involvement and green financial services, and focus on the development of financial technology to steadily advance towards our goal of becoming a regional bank in Asia.
