KMT Chairman shows support for front line workers by gifting face masks

TAIPEI (The China Post) — Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) Chairman Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) showed his support for frontline medical workers by sending FFP2 masks and face shields to the Zhongxing Branch of the Taipei City Hospital (台北市聯合醫院中興院區) and the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (新北市亞東醫院)on Thursday.

Chiang emphasizes the importance of standing as a united front against the virus, which is the common enemy.

On Thursday, he went with KMT Secretary-General Lee Chien-lung (李乾龍), Chairman of the KMT headquarters in Taipei City Huang Lu-chin-ju (黃呂錦茹), Central Standing Committee members Lee De-Wei (李德維) and Chen Wang-chuan (陳汪全), and others to deliver the masks to the Zhongxing Branch of the Taipei City Hospital.

They later delivered masks to the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital along with the Chairman of the KMT headquarters in New Taipei City Huang Chih-hsiung (黃志雄) and legislator Huang Meng-kai (洪孟楷).

Each hospital received 2,880 masks and 1,000 face shields.

He thanked the dedication of all the medical staff and promised the KMT’s help with medical care. Any need would be provided by the KMT initiative, “I’ll help with epidemic prevention” (防疫我加一).

Chiang also stressed that the domestic vaccines must be brought up to international standards and go through phase three trials.

He emphasized the need for the government to approve the domestic vaccines as the people should have more freedom to choose the vaccines they want.
