TAIPEI (The China Post) — A cluster infection with 45 new COVID-19 cases was confirmed by the Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Corporation (TAPMC, 臺北農產運銷公司) on Sunday.

Authorities said that the cases include 20 employees, 18 wholesale market workers, and 7 dispatched workers packaging fruits.

The Taipei City Department of Economic Development (DED, 台北市政府產業發展局) announced on Sunday that the city government screened TAPMC employees during the Dragon Boat Festival, and has made necessary adjustments according to the confirmed cases.

City authorities used screening teams from Wanhua (萬華) to screen TAPMC employees on Saturday, and also established an advance command post.

The DED also emphasized that they plan on vaccinating TAPMC employees who tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday which includes around 200 employees.

They will also set up more screening booths to screen consignees, in the hopes of stabilizing fruit and vegetable wholesale between Taipei and southern or central regions of Taiwan.

To address the positive COVID-19 cases, the company has announced that out of the 20 employees, 9 of them are not based in Taipei, adding that they have traveled to places including New Taipei and Keelung City.

However, they have taken necessary precautions to limit the spread of the coronavirus, the company said.

The Taipei city government will also set up the advance command post at 8 a.m. on Monday to adjust traffic flow and hygiene infection control. They will also speed up the screening process to gain better control of the situation.
